I love assisting my clients with their business premises fitout.
There is nothing better than seeing a well thought-out and planned fitout come together!
However, business premises fitouts are far from straightforward.
A lot can go wrong if not approached the right way!
A dream fitout can quickly become a nightmare!
Premises Fitout - Critical Step No 1 - Planning
Like most things in business, planning is the key if you want a successful outcome!
When planning premises fitout elements to consider include:
- Your vision
- Layout and foot traffic
- Storage
- Customer preferences and service
- Finishes, surfaces and acoustics
- Colours and branding
- Durability
Critical Step No 2 - Create a Budget
Before contacting potential suppliers set a budget.
It is important to know in advance how much you can afford to spend.
If you provide suppliers with a budget to work to it can make the process far easier.
To achieve the quality finish you desire, may see the budget change – but at least it is a great starting point.
Setting a budget will save a lot of time and frustration.
Critical Step No 3 - Seek Detailed Quotes
A major issue for premises fitout is cost overruns.
To avoid this, and potential cash-flow problems, always seek detailed, written quotes, from suppliers.
(If you need finance, detailed quotes will also make the process easier)
Experienced quality suppliers will always provide detailed quotes as it is as much in their interest, as their clients!
Critical Step No 4 - Use a Professional
Unless experienced in the field of business premises fitout, trying to “do it yourself” to save money is a recipe for cost overruns, disaster and wasted time.
It is far better to use a professional supplier experienced in the field.
They will have greater economies of scale, use experienced tradespeople, be better able to coordinate the process and avoid many of the common pitfalls.
Critical Step No 5 - Supplier Experience & Customer Satisfaction
When seeking suppliers for a premises fitout it is important to:
- Always look beyond the glossy brochures and fancy website
- Ask about their experience in your industry
- Have a look at their previous work
Quality suppliers will have no problems providing details of satisfied clients.
As stated at the outset, assisting clients with their premises fitout is something I truly enjoy.
Like the actual build and installation, the finance component which I provide can present many challenges.
It needs attention to detail, careful planning and coordination.
But dealing with these challenges is something I love doing!
To ensure a successful outcome, if you are thinking about the fitout of business premises and need finance, the earlier you can get me involved the better!
If you need further information, or want a highly competitive quote, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
