I have a background in Senior Relationship Management, Private Banking and Mortgage Broking finance of over 30 years.

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my time in banking, I made the transition into Mortgage Broking because I was attracted by the ability to access many Lenders, and through this, realize significantly better outcomes for clients.

Greater Choice and Deeper Relationships

I also found the Finance Broker role and the greater choice available makes it easier to develop deeper, and longer-term relationships with clients than was possible when working for a large institution.

The reason for this being, that market access provides clients with more options meaning they are not limited to the appetite, product suite and policies of just one organisation.

Market access provides clients with greater flexibility and invariably delivers better outcomes.

The Finance Broker model also means I can continue to work with my clients as their needs evolve over future years and provide them with continuity.

Helping Clients Navigate Complexity!

Finance by its nature can be very complex. Whilst you can compare headline rates and fees online, this is really just the “tip of the iceberg” in terms of what you need to consider.

You need to be able to compare and understand all the terms and conditions attaching to loan facilities, including the different products and structures to ensure they will work for both the short and long-term. (Unwinding the wrong loan structure can be very timing and costly).

As a Finance Broker, I undertake research on behalf of my clients and explain the available options to ensure they understand the different alternatives they have available, their implications and the opportunities, etc.

Client Focus

My approach is to work closely with my clients to:

  • Understand what they are trying to achieve, not only immediately, but also in the longer-term
  • Tip the scales in their favour through strategy and forward planning before approaching the Lenders
  • Ensure availability of all needed information upfront to avoid unnecessary delays & frustration as Lenders work through their loan assessment processes.
  • Develop a professional Finance Proposal to ensure the Lenders fully understand the transaction and what the client is seeking to accomplish

Education and Communication

I believe in education, transparency and open dialogue with my clients. If I have a concern, I will share it with my clients, rather than see them commit to an arrangement I feel could lead to issues down the track.

To the greatest extent possible, I strive to keep my clients, (and where involved, their professional advisors, Accountants, Financial Planners) updated throughout the entire loan process.

In a fast-paced world communication is still key.
